Welcome!
We are a third grade class at Summit Road STEM Elementary School in
Reynoldsburg, Ohio. You can read more about our school district here and check
out the Summit website here. We are the self-contained gifted/accelerated class
for the third grade at Summit. Our classroom is full of creative and critical
thinkers!
Every
day, we work hard to investigate situations and solve problems. We apply our
Summit Core Values and SPARK expectations to everything we do!
Here’s
our typical schedule. Our schedule does ebb and flow as we become engrossed in
projects and welcome guest speakers – if you’d like to observe a particular
part of our day, let me know so that I can check the calendar!

Writing Workshop
During
this time, we read a mentor text and discuss how to apply the author’s craft
in our own work. Students then write independently while I pull individuals
for writing conferences. At the end of the workshop, students have an
opportunity to share their writing with the class.
