Hi! My name is Taylor Lang
and I am a third grade teacher at Summit Road STEM Elementary in Reynoldsburg,
Ohio. This is my third year of teaching and third year at Summit. I taught one
year of second grade, then looped with a few students to 3rd grade!
This
year, I am excited to be teaching a gifted and accelerated group of students.
We have had a journey analogous to the pioneers on their trip west: being the
first in our building to experience such a classroom, we've had a few kinks
along the way, but have established a classroom
environment where students have ownership of their learning and apply their
critical thinking skills on a daily basis!
I graduated from Miami
University in 2012 with my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education
and thematic sequence is Speech/Language Pathology and certification to teach
grades PreK-5.
While at Miami, I student
taught in Middletown, Ohio. I also volunteered frequently in schools in Oxford
and the surrounding area – I ran a Spanish class at McGuffey Montessori (then
the McGuffey Foundation School) and pulled math intervention groups at Loveland
Primary.
This past summer, I completed
my M.Ed in Literacy and Language, and added a certification to teach reading in
grades K-12. Currently, I am taking classes toward my gifted endorsement. While
I fully believe in the importance of life-long learning, I’ll be taking a break
from continuing education when this endorsement is finishedJ.
A few of my non-school-related
favorite things are reading, exercising, caramel macchiatos (to combat the
exercise, of course!), attempting crafts and home decor projects inspired by
Pinterest, going to concerts, and spending time with friends!
