Word Study Resources
I scanned the word study pages we worked on together today in case there's any confusion about what your notes should look like. They are under the Resources tab and called "Word Study Handouts". This is a Google drive folder - I will update it each week with the new handouts.
Also, here are some Show Me links for the syllable types we worked on today in case you're stumped at home.

Expanded Algorithm Multi-Digit Multiplication
Here's a quick video to help with the expanded algorithm for multi-digit multiplication. It is important for students to be able to explain their thinking and why they're doing what they're doing when they carry out the traditional algorithm - we've found that this method has been helpful in increasing our understanding of why we take each step!

Newsletter
A paper copy of this will be sent home tomorrow... Graded work envelopes will resume next week! As soon as I have possible dates for conferences, we will start discussing our goals and progress and students will select work they would like to share in a student-led conference. Stay tuned on that front!
Also, one last plea - if you have not already completed the homework survey, please do so. The feedback has been very beneficial and I value your input. Thank you for taking the time to complete it if you have already! Click here to access the survey.

Homework Survey
As I continue to reflect on making the best use of our time throughout the year, I've been doing some research on homework. I recently read this book (a good read, if you're interested!) and would appreciate your feedback on the survey the author includes.

I didn't write the questions, just put them into a Google form so that you're able to remain anonymous :-).
As always, thanks for your feedback!
