Expanded Algorithm Multi-Digit Multiplication

Here's a quick video to help with the expanded algorithm for multi-digit multiplication. It is important for students to be able to explain their thinking and why they're doing what they're doing when they carry out the traditional algorithm - we've found that this method has been helpful in increasing our understanding of why we take each step!

As soon as I have possible dates for conferences, we will start discussing our goals and progress and students will select work they would like to share in a student-led conference. Stay tuned on that front!

As I continue to reflect on making the best use of our time throughout the year, I've been doing some research on homework. I recently read this book (a good read, if you're interested!) and would appreciate your feedback on the survey the author includes.
